I was a prefect in my school.

 

I studeid at Good Sherpherd Convent, Panadura. In my school life I have got many expereinces to my life. Among them prefectship is one of my favorite. I had prefectship in 2017- 2018. I got this because I was doing well in school work. There were 32 students in our batch with head prefect, deputy head prefect, games captain and deputy games captain. 

In my prefectship life I think that I did a good service to my school. And it is a good expereince that made memories of my school path. We made an unforgettable sportsmeet in 2017. We organized Teachers' day and children' s day and the Christmas carols day. Also we helped to the Art Day which was held in 2018 and organized English Day in 2018. Like these we done many things. There are lot of stories behind this prefectship. My parents and friends helped me to do my studies well. I love those days that I spend with my friends, teachers and miss them a lot.

I am so proud to say that I am a shepherdian. I love my school forever.

    I captured these photos when I went to Dehiwala Zoo with my second elder brother, his wife and his children.  

     The parrot is the closest bird that we can find in the birds world. I met this cutest, little character in their bird aviary. Firstly I scared to him. Then my brother' s wife help me to take him to my hand. Suddenely the parrot came to my shoulder and try to eat my button in my frock. In the meantime my brother captured these photos. After a while he flew away and I had to reluctantly leave him. I never forget this photo and I love this very much. And I wish to meet  him again.

Who is Beethoven?

    Ludwing Van Beethoven was born in 1770. He is a German composer and he belongs to the Classical period. 

    He was the second child. His father wanted to became another musician. So he was given tution on violin, piano and compotion. Unfortunately Beethoven' s mother died when he was 17 and he had to support the famliy.

    Beethoven studied with Haydn who was another music composer for a short period. He began to loose his hearing around 1800. Attempts to restore his hearing did not work. But he did not criticized for being innovative. He was given a state funeral and Mozart' s Requiem K626 was performed. Beethoven remains one of the most admired composers in the history of Western music. 

He wrote 32 piano sonatas, 35 sonatas, Sonata in F minor, Emperor Concerto. He died in his apartment in the Schwarzspanierhaus, Vienna, on 26 March 1827 at the age of 56.

The talents

    Some people are multy talented.😍😍 Some people only have one talent. But they improve their talent and show the best performance to the world and become a popular star.😍💫 But in my opinion we want some luck. Everyone must have a goal in their lives. Without a goal we can' t reach to our dreams. So firstly, we have to make plan. then work hard. Then our dream surely come true. 💪💓💓

 

Bill Gates

    

        If you want to be star you have to face the challenges. Some people haven' t enough money to reach their goals. But according to their life story we can get to know about their how they are became famous poeple or rich. By the wealth they earned by their own labor.  For an example Bill Gates, Jim Morrison, Halle Berry...etc. These people who have overcome adversity. 

                

       Certin people is coming through accepting challenges. For an example Walt Disney, Charlie Chaplin, and Shahrukh Khan. People who have won the hearts of the world. 

    Don' t think about your falls, that how people blame you or critizes you. Turn those into turning points. With a U- turn and you can take a new path. If you feel tired, remember these people. You can not reap without hard work. 

My siblings 💖💖

    The most beautiful thing in the world is "the family". God given me a beautiful family. There are five members in my family. They are mother, fahter, two elder borothers and me. Each one has a  gifted talent. My father and my mother are the main roots in our family. We nothing without them.

    I am humbled and proud to always be told that I have two elder brothers. My first elder brother' s name is Janith Jayawardena. He is 33 years old. He works at Ceylinco General Insurance Limited.

    My second elder brother' s name is Dilshan Jayawardena. He is 30 years old. He is a general cashier at at John keells Maldivians Resorts (pvt) ltd. Both brothers studeid at Holy Cross college. 

    In our young ages we had fights everyday. Had unforgettable days among us. But they love me, because I am younger than them and I am the who is one and only sister for them. If someone in a trouble, we don' t foget to help each other. They tell he path to my carrier. I think I am lucky to have siblings like this. Love them very much and think always how I live without them.

Beruwala beach pollution.

 

  Beruwala is a coastal area in the western province, about 55 kilometers to the South of Colombo. It is very popular for its fishing and hotel industries. The majority of the villagers are Muslims and their famous mosque ‘Kechchimale’ is located on Beruwala beach. There is a children’s beach park too. Beruwala harbor and the light house are two important locations attached to Beruwala beach and sea. There are number of famous tourist hotels in Beruwala. Beach is also used for fishing, boat anchorages and fish markets. So naturally, Beruwala beach plays an important role for the success and smooth running of the above mentioned activities and to maintain the locations. Thus the beach environment should be kept clean and beautiful.

    

 However, it is very sad to note that Beruwala beach is heavily polluted at present. Sometimes it stinks. Its attraction is lost though it is frequently visited by tourists. Not only this, there are some other losses due to this pollution.

    Immediate action should be taken to remedy the situation. As far as I feel, the best solution to the problem of coastal pollution is to organize programs to convince the people regarding their duty and responsibility to keep this beach beautiful and clean. 

    Man must be the cause of the pollution of the ocean, and man must be the solution to this problem. The ocean, benefits us in many ways more than we can imagine, so we have to do our essential part in keeping our ocean clean. There are some things we can do to be part of the solution and make a difference. 

For an examples,

1. Refuse the use of single use plastics as much as possible.

2. We can write to relevant authorities to get their attention on this issue.

3. Thirdly notice boards should be fixed here and there displaying the value of the beach and the importance of protecting its cleanliness without polluting.

By doing the above, we will be able to keep the beach clean as well as attract tourists.

Ketchimalai Mosque

    Ketchimalai mosque is one of the oldest mosques in the country. It is located in Beruwala, on the south coast of  Sri lanka. 

    Accordidng to the local folklore the mosque was built on the site where the first muslim Arab traders landed and later settled. The ancient mosque in the Ketchimalai hills has been around for over stood for almost 800 years and stands majestically as appropriated backdrop of the sea.

    During that era the island was referred to as Serendib, and was a popular trading hub, the Maritime Provinces being the venues for vibrant trade. 

    The mosque is believed to have been built over a thousand years ago. In fact, it is believed that the first Muslims from Arabia settled in Beruwela and built the Ketchimala Mosque in 1024 AD. This mosque belongs to the ancient Arabic architecture. It grows tall and white on a rock surrounded by coconut trees. The church is completely white except for the green doors.

My mother and father 😍💓

Do you like to know about my parents?

    My mother's name is Jenat Rordigo. My father's name is Tyrone Fernando Jayawardena. They are good and humble person that I firstly met in my life. There are five members in my family. I have two elder brothers. Our parents try to make our lives better than theirs and worry everytime about us.

    

    My mother is a house wife. She does a great service to make the family beautiful. Mother saves our lives from evil by telling things we do not know on society. That is why we are here today. She encourages us that everytime we miss saying 'we can't'. 

My father is a revenue officer at Lanka Electricity Company. He also sacrifices his happiness for our happiness. I learned to be patience and endurance from my parents. I remember them every fall of life and move on. All three of us are lukcy to have parents like this. It is our responsibility to take care of them in their old age.  

Our Art Day in 2018...

    My school is Good Shepherd Convent Panadura. I did Advanced Level examination in arts stream. So we have to do an Art day in our school. Its name was "Arunakara Miyurusara". It is a big challenge to our class. We got ready to it in no time. First we appointed a board.  Teachers in charge of us helped a lot. 

                                      
                                            

    Our guest was Mr. Rodney Warnakula. There were so many items in our art day. They were dancing items, singing items and a drama item. Our theme was paddy field. So we used paddy and some sweet corns to decorate our stage and the school main hall. 

    Certificates awarded to the winners of sinhala literary competitions.

Finally we were able to make our art day a success. 

Puppies lost their mother😔😔

    There is an empty hall next to our home. One day my mother heard a noice of puppies. When searching we can found their mother' s dead body nearby and we could understand that they were screaming because they were hungry. There were two puppies and they were about two weeks old.

    One of them is a girly puppy and the other one is a boy. we named them as Pinky and Tommy. They were cute and playful. My mother and I started to look after them. 

    Firstly We gave a them towel. Then we feed them milk. After that we started to give biscuit with milk. They grew fastly. We started to give rice. My mother was so happy to see them. But sad all time because they were missing their mother. 

    Then they were started to come to our home and cuddled with us. 

    One day a little boy came to carry the dog. We let them to carry because it could find a proper shelter with love. So the Pinky became lonely and was like sadness. She always cried. 

Eventually, we couldn' t find that where she went.
